Infrastructure Upgrades

Port-au-Prince, Haiti


As Prime Contractor, Edifice provided campus-wide Design+Build infrastructure upgrades at the Haitian National Police Training Academy (HNP). The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) funded this project, and it was procured by the U.S. Department of State.

Based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, work for this contract was designed to resist the seismic and hurricane forces that often affect the area. The work included a two-story classroom, commercial kitchen, two-bathroom facility buildings, a perimeter security wall, terraces, and a major upgrade to the campus electrical system.

Utilizing local and regional subcontractors, Edifice constructed a 2 kilometer long, reinforced, fully grouted masonry security wall around the perimeter of this campus. Environmental Remediation Services included demolition of various campus structures, a major upgrade to the campus electrical system, a new campus-wide septic system and leach fields, installation of elevated water tanks, extensive steel and concrete work, and new walkways. The contract also included the installation of all FF&E products.
